The Development Coordinator will serve a key role in helping plan and execute the organization’s annual fund development plan in a membership environment, which includes donor management and general fundraising appeals (such as mailings and online campaigns), and special events.

The Development Coordinator will serve a key role in helping plan and execute the organization’s annual fund development plan in a membership environment, which includes donor management and general fundraising appeals (such as mailings and online campaigns), and special events. The Development Coordinator reports to the Executive Director and Finance Director, and will work closely with WTC’s policy campaign team.
The most successful candidates will have previous fund development experience in a political campaign environment – whether for individual candidates, an initiative or a levy. One-to-three years experience in fund development and some college are preferred.
The salary midpoint for the Development Coordinator is $35,000, with specific pay set relative to midpoint based on factors such as education and experience. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Development Coordinator supports the fund development functions of the organization. Responsibilities focus on overseeing the day-to-day fundraising operations, managing computer databases related to fund development and coordinating events.
After ongoing responsibilities are established, other assignments and priorities are confirmed with the supervisor.
- Coordinate the communications (written, verbal, electronic) that are essential to donor and membership management. Lead the development and production of member renewal letters, fundraising appeals, etc. Coordinate with other staff to create high-quality online appeals, event invitations, etc. Constantly explore and execute new opportunities to engage donors and members more deeply through communications.
- Take a lead role in developing and maintaining “first name basis” relationships with members and donors through email, telephone calls, at events, etc. Respond to donor and member requests for information, offer support such as stock gift instructions and event table captain guidance, etc.
- Coordinate small events such as house parties and member information/appreciation events, and assist in the production of larger events such as the annual fundraising auction.
- Master the donor database, generate progress reports on various fund development initiatives and participate in the analysis of results. Provide back-up data entry support as needed.
- Interface very directly with the campaign team to better integrate fund development messages and activities with those advanced by campaign and outreach efforts.
- Participate in developing and executing the annual fund development plan and help to strategize new initiatives and opportunities.
- Take the lead on opportunities
to expand awareness of WTC through community events, workplace giving
fairs, etc. Lead efforts to expand WTC’s participation and enrollment
in workplace giving campaigns.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent is required. A bachelor’s degree in political science, environmental studies, social change movements, communications or related field is preferred. One- to three-years development experience, event organization a plus.
Knowledge of:
- Computer database management and general office software such as spreadsheets, word processing, etc.
- Principles and practices of event planning
- Principles and practices of volunteer management
