Washington Governor Signs Ban On BPA In Baby Bottles
Baby bottles and sports bottles sold in Washington state will soon have to be free of the chemical bisphenol A under a measure signed into law on Friday by Gov. Chris Gregoire.
Governor Signs Bill To Ban BPA In Children's Dishware and Sports Bottles
Governor Gregoire signed the Safe Baby Bottle Act into law. The new legislation reinforces the state’s status as a national leader in protecting children’s health from toxic chemicals. Washington is now only the second state to ban bisphenol A (BPA) in sports bottles and the fifth to take action on the chemical in children’s dishware.
Legislation seeks limited ban on chemical used in plastics
Perhaps as early as Friday, the Washington state Senate is expected to vote on whether to fine manufacturers and retailers that make or sell baby bottles, sippy cups, and cans or jars of infant food that contain the chemical bisphenol A because of health concerns for young children.
