Ceramic dishware that is old, imported, or handmade. Also avoid ceramic dishware if the glaze is cracked, chipping, or otherwise deteriorating. While some studies suggest that melamine may cause acute toxicity, further research is needed to determine whether melamine dishware leaches toxic chemicals. |
