Declare your yard a pesticide free zone! By posting the colorful Pesticide Free Zone sign in your lawn or garden, you can tell your neighborhood that you don't use pesticides and you're proud of it. You can also be a resource for friends, neighbors, and relatives who use pesticides or who want to learn how to stop. The signs are also suitable for schools, parks, and businesses. See our Pesticide Free Zone Slide Shows for photos and descriptions of notable landscapes and yards that prominently and proudly display Pesticide Free Zone signs.

If you are a resident of Washington, sign our pledge and receive one FREE Pesticide Free Zone sign!

Pesticides Free Zone Sign on a StakeThe eight-inch diameter aluminum signs are permanent and have two mounting holes that allow them to be attached to a stake, fence, or wall or hung from a wire. The sign comes with three fact sheets: "What's Wrong with Pesticides?" (64kb PDF file), "Talking to your Neighbors about Pesticides," (80kb PDF file) and the "Pesticide Free Zone Sign Owners Manual" (112kb PDF file).

If you live outside of Washington, do not wish to sign the pledge, or want additional signs, signs can be purchased from The National Coalition for Pesticide-Free Lawns.

What does "pesticide free" mean?

Ideally, pesticide free means that no chemical pest controls at all are used. However, we consider the use of products that are allowed in organic agriculture or exempt from federal pesticide registration to be compatible with our philosophy because we want to encourage manufacturers to develop safer products. Read more about allowed products here.

We distribute the signs on the honor system. We don't ask or monitor what materials you use. If you feel that the sign accurately reflects your practices, you should display it. Should you have questions about the suitability of any products, please feel free to contact us at askwtc@watoxics.org or 1-800-844-SAFE.
