Support the Safe Chemicals Act of 2012!


Here in Washington state, we’re lucky to have some of the strongest laws that protect families from harmful chemicals. Although we’ve still got a ways to go, our state is considered a national leader on these issues. But we need real reform at the federal level too, so all families can live in a toxic-free environment.

Your US Senators and Representative need to hear from you! Sign the petition to support the Safe Chemicals Act (S.847).

Flame Retardant Makers' Dirty Tricks EXPOSED

A new investigation by the Chicago Tribune reveals that the chemical industry used dirty tricks to keep their cancer-causing Tris flame retardant in kids' products and on store shelves. They even employed their unethical practices in Washington state to kill the Toxic-Free Kids Act of 2012, a bill that would have banned toxic Tris.  

We're not taking these latest revelations of chemical industry shenanigans lying down. We've already asked the Department of Ecology to take immediate action on Tris and fully intend to campaign for a statewide ban on the chemical in 2013.
