A Non-toxic spa birthday party

When it comes to birthday parties for my 3 kids, I'm no Martha Stewart, so don't be intimidated by the idea of a toxic-free spa party where you make your own beauty products. It's fun, easy and pretty low-budget.

You can get supplies from Zenith Supplies in Seattle or any store selling essential oils; choose recipes for products at www.makeyourowncosmetics.com/; prepare your home by covering up couches and rugs with old sheets; and have a blast!

Here's what my 9-year old daughter Bella said about the experience:

My non-toxic spa 9th birthday party was the best party I have ever had. We had a bunch of non-toxic spa stuff like lip balm and cream bars, which were like cream but star bar shaped. We also had ginger foot warming cream so we put our feet in buckets of water and my mom and sister were rubbing it on our feet. It was so great. The great part was it was toxic free. Also, we made chocolate facial masks that we put on our face and it felt so so so  good and it also tasted so so so good. I did not like my birthday party I LOVED IT. I mean the chocolate was so non-toxic you could lick it right off your chocolate face while having your feet rubbed with ginger foot warming cream soaking in a tub of water. Then when I was done with that my mom took my tub and poured it in the sink then my sister rubbed a home made bar shaped cream on my feet and man was it good! It was the best birthday party in the whole entire universe.
