Happy Earth Day!

April 22nd is Earth Day!  We know it's a day early, but it's one of our favorite holidays, and we've been hearing about all sorts of great events happening this week.  Why not celebrate by greening up your lifestyle or volunteering?  Here are a few ideas:

  • Volunteer with WTC!  We always have projects going on that we could use a hand with.  Check out our Volunteer Opportunities page for details.
  • Call your Senator and ask them to co-sponsor The Safe Chemicals Act!
  • Ecoconsumer has come up with an easy to follow 6 step Earth Day Detox program for you and your home.  It covers everything from cosmetics to those mysterious chemicals you might have out in your garage!
  • Looking to get out of the house? King County is throwing a free Earth Day Expo on Friday in Westlake Plaza in Downtown Seattle where staff can answer all your burning eco-related questions.
  • Want to get your hands dirty?  Northwest Wildlife Federation wrote a great blog about the history of Earth Day, which includes different volunteer opportunities for Saturday, such as removal of invasive plants and trail restoration.

However you choose to celebrate, we hope you have a wonderful Earth Day!
