Fed up with cancer-causing toxic chemicals in their homes and their bodies, this week over 30 moms, nurses, and health advocates visited the offices of Washington state’s two Senators – Maria Cantwell and Patty Murray – to find out what the Senators plan to do about the problem.
From Seattle to Spokane to Everett to Vancouver, groups of advocates knocked on the Senators’ state office doors each day to urge the Senators to co-sponsor the Safe Chemicals Act, federal legislation that will require chemicals to be proven safe before they are put on the market. The advocates’ message was simple:
Along with this message, each Senator received special superpowers and an alter ego with which to fight dangerous toxic chemicals. Although neither Senator has committed to sponsoring the legislation yet, advocates hope their visits got their attention! From the looks of the pictures below, I think they probably did!

So consider this blog the bat signal or safer chemicals signal or whatever will get you to your phone quickly. Please join these brave heroes for safer chemicals and make a call!
Call Washington’s senators at the Capitol switch board (202) 224-3121 and ask Senators Murray and Cantwell to be superheroes for public health by co-sponsoring The Safe Chemicals Act (S. 847) today!
Thanks!
