One step closer to safer chemicals
The country took one step closer to getting the worst toxic chemicals off store shelves and out of our bodies yesterday thanks to the introduction of The Toxic Chemical Safety Act in Congress.
The country took one step closer to getting the worst toxic chemicals off store shelves and out of our bodies yesterday thanks to the introduction of The Toxic Chemical Safety Act in Congress. The new bill will provide stronger protections from chemicals linked to cancer, asthma, learning disabilities, reproductive problems, and more.
Washington state Congressman Jay Inslee played an integral part in ensuring the legislation would restrict the most toxic chemicals that build up in our food chain and in our bodies, such as toxic flame retardants, lead, and cadmium. Thanks Congressman Inslee!
Our coalition partners at Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families have the details on the legislation in their press release.
