Parents and kids, we need coloring experts!

It’s time to break out the crayons and construction paper! We need your help to make sure that Governor Gregoire continues to make protecting kids from toxic chemicals in toys one of her top priorities.

Over the past few years Gov. Gregoire has done a lot to protect kid’s health. She’s put in place the toughest standards for lead, cadmium, phthalates in toys and gotten rid of BPA in children’s dish ware. Her commitment has made Washington one of the safest states for children to live and play. It’s time to say, "thanks and keep up the good work!"

Can you help us get this important message to Gov. Gregoire by mailing her a hand drawn thank you note?

Here is what you will need:

1 piece of paper

Coloring instrument of choice
(colored pencils, crayons, markers etc)

1 (or more) child

1 envelope

1 stamp

Together you and your child can create a hand drawn thank you note to Gov. Gregoire.

Sample message:

Dear Gov. Gregoire,

Thank you for protecting kid’s from toxic toys and dishware!

Unfortunately, we know that there are still a lot of toxic chemicals used in kid’s products. Keep up the good work, and please continue to make protecting Washington’s families a top priority.

From: Parents Names, kid’s names and ages

Here's our first note heading to Gov. Gregoire:

You can mail the note to:

Governor Chris Gregoire
Office of the Governor
PO Box 40002
Olympia, WA 98504-0002

If you can send a thank you note, email Anna Dyer at adyer@watoxics.org. Or better yet…send us a picture of the picture and we’ll post it on this blog and Facebook page.
