You’re Invited To Help Stop Toxic Toys In Washington!

— filed under: Environmental health, Activists, Parents and Kids, Toxic Toys

Your voice is needed at a public hearing to show support for the first-ever rules to require toy makers to disclose whether cancer-causing and other chemicals are in their products. With strong rules in place, parents will have the information they need to decide what products to give their children.

Your voice is needed at a public hearing to show support for the first-ever rules to require toy makers to disclose whether cancer-causing and other chemicals are in their products.  With strong rules in place, parents will have the information they need to decide what products to give their children.

Still not convinced to go?
Here are my top 5 reasons:

1. The chemical industry and large toy manufactures have been working to weaken the rule. Now is our chance to weigh in and protect Washington’s future.

2. We worked really hard to pass the Children’s Safe Product Act to provide consumers with the information they need to stay healthy. Unless we show up to defend that progress and advocate for a strong rule to be implemented, families won’t be protected and all our hard work goes down the drain.

3. This is your chance to take a stand. The Department of Ecology will be taking public comments, now is the time to weigh in and tell them exactly what you thing about toxic toys before they make their final decision.

4. I will be passing out AWESOME stickers for everyone to wear to show their support for toxic-free toys.

5. The chemical industry will be there, will you?
